Controls and Automation Engineer

As a controls and automation engineer at Plantd you will develop, implement, and maintain control systems to support the integration of automation equipment into production lines. This role focuses on implementing automation, data collection, and controls systems on production machines. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to maximize machine up time, product yield, and quality standards.

Responsibilities
- Design and develop control systems for automated machinery and industrial processes
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs (e.g., CODESYS, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, etc.) utilizing object-oriented programming (structured text, ladder logic, function block diagrams, etc.)
- Develop and modify HMI/SCADA screens and logic
- Interpret electrical schematics and control panel layouts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design, Build, Integration, and Test Teams
- Create and Maintain Documentation related to system architecture, software, and procedures.
- Develop and maintain engineering standards, continuous improvement efforts, and best practices.
- Communicate and maintain relationships with vendors
- Integrate sensors, actuators, VFDs, and other hardware into control systems

- Hands-on experience with PLC programming
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, or scientific discipline OR 2+ years of professional experience building controls or electromechanical systems
- Relevant experience in end to end product development

- Range $80,000 - $100,000
