Join Shellworks as an Operations Strategist and help us materialise a better future by eliminating plastic pollution.

About Shellworks

At Shellworks, we’re on a mission to make plastic waste a thing of the past. We’re creating a new generation of materials - sustainable, high-performing, and designed to disappear. By reimagining how materials are made, we’re tackling one of the world’s most urgent environmental challenges.

About the Role

We're now looking for a sharp, curious, and driven OperationsStrategist to join our small team and work directly with our founders to help take Shellworks to the next level. If you thrive on variety, love solving hard problems, and get energy from jumping in wherever needed, this role might be for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cross-Functional Project Delivery: Orchestration of ~6 concurrent product launches, serving as the central coordinator between Engineering, Sales, Finance, and Manufacturing to ensure on-time market entry.

  • Supply Chain Ownership: End-to-end management of the Shellworks upstream supply chain, encompassing raw material procurement, strategic supplier relations, global sourcing, inventory management, logistics & warehousing

  • Operational Excellence: Execution of daily operations to ensure consistent customer delivery, focusing on the simultaneous optimization of unit cost, lead times, and quality standards.

  • Supply Chain Expansion: Identification and vetting of global partners to inform scaling strategies, including the establishment of regional manufacturing hubs and international compliance frameworks.

  • Systems & Data Architecture: Design and maintenance of sophisticated supply-and-demand models and internal tracking systems to enhance Shellworks’ decision-making and operational efficiency

  • Work with the best: Work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment with a team that replaced 4M units of plastic last year

Our Ideal Candidate

Must-haves:

  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 2+ years in a high-intensity operational environment (e.g., Start-up, Operations, Consulting, or Supply Chain) with a demonstrated history of end-to-end process ownership.

  • STEM Background: A strong STEM background (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) providing the logical framework necessary to translate engineering constraints into business decisions

  • Operational Autonomy: The ability to execute with high precision under conditions of ambiguity and uncertainty, maintaining momentum against tight timelines without constant supervision.

  • Technical Detail: An obsessive focus on accuracy regarding procurement documentation, compliance forms, and forecasting models to mitigate operational and financial risk.

  • Systems Architecture: Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, with the ability to build, maintain, and optimize complex data models and inventory systems from the ground up.
