Position Summary: Biomason is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Engineer or Materials Scientist, specializing in concrete materials and applications to join our team developing biocement technology platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in the science of aggregate, additives, admixture, and reinforcement in nontraditional cementitious materials. The candidate must have a passion for scientific discovery, outside-the-box thinking, and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborative environment. This position will report to the Senior Manager, Materials Science.
Responsibilities:
- Lead medium to high complexity projects, contributing to development, scoping, and execution.
- Drive the development of construction materials, including design, production, testing, and analysis.
- Provide technical expertise to clients.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including research and engineering departments.
- Stay current with construction material standards and use them to guide R&D.
- Apply findings from relevant literature to current experiments.
Education/Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related fields preferred; or a Master's with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- 5 years of experience in concrete research and development.
- Strong knowledge of advanced concrete materials, with expertise in nontraditional cementitious systems preferred.
- Experience in designing and producing precast and reinforced concrete products that meet ASTM or EN standards.
- Familiarity with ASTM and EN standards for concrete materials and testing.
- Experience with aggregate, admixture, and additive formulation development.
