We're temporarily slowing the biogenic carbon cycle by radically shifting existing waste management practices. By creating waste-derived base materials to be used in biopolymers, batteries, building materials, footwear, apparel and more we can utilize carbon that's been fixed for over 1,000 years to replace some of the most commonly used materials in industry.
OurCarbon is developing a series of materials made with the fixed carbon from organic waste streams. These materials include municipal organic waste, agricultural waste, deconstruction materials, textile waste, offcuts, and even manufacturing sludges. These feedstocks each produce a unique material with far reaching potential to replace fossil derived materials in our mass produced products, giving brands and manufacturers the ability to 'inset' carbon directly into their products.
